    Full360 ElasticBI Data Platform

Full360’s ElasticBI Framework is our world class DW PaaS. Every day it continues to evolve. Full360 Likes Jaspersoft 5

I had the good fortune to be invited to the Jaspersoft pre-release seminars in San Francisco. There I was in the company of a few other partners and at least 40 Jaspersoft employees from all different departments (and countries) around the company.

So what’s new? Jaspersoft Version 5. Although I’m fairly new to the product, I got a good idea of where it’s going, and most importantly what concepts are driving development. Here’s a brief recap of all that I saw.

    Starting From Scratch

I know too much and it is hindering my ability to do anything.  So my new approach is to throw out all of my paradigms and start from scratch. In other words, I’m killing my strategic thinking and paying attention to the stuff right in front of my face.

    More Cloud, More Chef

I’ve been talking about my cloudy future for a while and it looks like this fourth quarter I will be crossing the chasm and spending more and more of my compute work up in those clouds. I’ve had an Amazon AWS account for a couple years but finally the time I’m spending working in those is clouds is closing on the amount of time I spend working in traditional environments.

    The Parallel Cubiverse

Using Essbase Studio to build two applications at once. Drill through becomes drill across when you use parent child constructions.

So what I have been doing over the past several months is an introduction to an idea that I’ve never quite seen before, and although we staggered into it, now that it’s mostly done I’m seeing some greater beauty in it.
